It's pretty silly that someone who loves numbers and predicting for the Pick 3 game like me never knew anything about the Rundown until I saw it being used by players in one of the forums in the LotteryPost.com Pick 3 threads.
As an active member in Ohio Pick 3 thread on LotteryPost it was there I came to see one of the contributing members post daily handwritten Rundown workouts using the 317 that immediately caught my attention. Because afterwards, she would update the thread illustrating with highlights where exactly the winning combo was sitting in the 317 Rundown gird.
My interest in exploring the 317 Rundown at length began there about 3 years ago. I gave it my focus and detailed everything I could to decide if the 317 Rundown was a worthy partner for predicting the next the winning Pick 3 combination. It wasn't easy getting to that decision.
I had work to do.

Since I was already using an Excel Workbook to help me record the daily Ohio Pick 3 results, it wasn't hard to get another worksheet set up to start looking at how often the next drawn winning combo was in the Rundown grid.
Here is the count of how many times across the twelve months of 2025 down running the 317 from the draw results of the Midday game to next winning draw in the Midday game; and visa-versa with the Evening to Evening.
The image here show that there was only 1 month in the 2025 that returned a "NO" not in the grid answer more times than it returned a "Yes". The count shows that the next winning combination was in the grid more than it wasn't.
So what this count was telling me was that although the winning combo is more often in the grid than it is not, I still needed to pay attention to the idea that the next winning combination does still have a good chance of not being in the gird.
So I set up a column on my draw results worksheet to let me see a pattern of how 'Yes/No" answers emerge over time. Meaning that if I saw a run of days where the winning combo was not in the grid, I could consider a wager on a yes answer to flip. And visa-versa.
This image below shows how I set that up on my draw results worksheet. I also went ahead and made a worksheet that would collect every possible combination the 317 Rundown can produce. We will go over that soon. It's important to know. But for now thats how I back tested the Rundown.
But I not only back tested the Midday Game against the Midday Game and Eve to Eve, but I also back tested draw to draw, meaning Midday to Evening and Evening back to Midday. Same thing. The 'yes' counts where higher than the no counts. So now, when I see a run of days with a yes or no answer, in one of the columns, either in the same game or two daily games, I decide which of them are in favor of a flip and use it for the combo to throw into the 317 Rundown.
Do I always win? No. It's the Pick 3 game. It's random and anything can happen. Knowing this serves for not to get discouraged, there's always the next game to try and catch a win.
So do I think the 317 Rundown is a worthy partner to help you wager your bets on the Pick 3 game? Yes, I do.
But here's what ya need to know and what I find out while combing through every detail I could about Rundowns. So next, I'll talk about just how many dang combinations exist inthe 317 Rundown, or any rundown for that matter, inside that 3x11 grid.

This was the part that I was obsessed with learning.
No one knew.
Anywhere I looked for information on the Rundown did anyone anywhere explain to me just how many dang combinations can this 3x11 grid of cells make when you consider how each of them connect/touch each other for predicting the next draw. I couldn't even find an origin on how the Rundown even started.
This one detail became the mystery I wanted to solve. So I combed though every cell and discovered each and every one of the patterns that can be made by the cells that would touch one another to form a 3 digit combination.
Here's what I found.
The obvious patterns are the ROWS, COLUMNS and DIAGONALS ...
For which there are ...
11 combinations that can be made from the ROWS.
27 combinations that can be made from the COLUMNS; and
18 combinations that can be made from DIAGONALS that go from right and left and left to right down the grid.
That's a total of 56 patterns/combinations. Which, by the way, depending on the 3 digit combination your are running down will produce duplicate combinations.
Next up are your 4 CORNER patterns that will add another 80 connected cells to the 56 for a new total of 136 combinations; for which there are, again, likely to be duplicate combos depending on which 3 digit combination your running down.
Below is an illustration of all possible patterns that need to be counted to figure out just how many combinations this 3x11 grid can produce.
The rest of the patterns are Zig Zags, and these patterns are actually the patterns that most often will hold the next winning combo, at least that is what I'm seeing from my own back testing of the Ohio games.
I've distinguished these Zig Zag patterns into 3 sets, the plain Zig Zig, the Vertical Zig Zag, and the Horizontal Zig Zag.
The first set of Zig Zags are the plain ones you see in the second row of the image avove. The second set of horizontal Zig Zags are the last two patterns in the second and third row. And the last set of veritical Zig Zags are the first four in the 3rd row.
The Zig Zags make up 168 combos.
So that 168 zig zags + 136 for the rows, columns and corners that will = 304 combinations.
That's the count. That's how many combinations can be made from the 317 Rundown grid.
So now I known and you know----that there are 304 Combinations can the Rundown make.
I know what you're thinking. And yes, that can be very discouraging to learn. Considering that we know there are only 220 unique combinations that can be drawn during any pick 3 game. And here they all are outlined by Sum in this image below.
I've also included in this image the percentages each of the Sum groups make up in the 220 contenders.
I've even colored Sums by further divided then into 5 groups known as Sum Codes. Sum Codes are another system I learned by being a member on LotteryPost and has proven itself useful in filtering the 220 for a win. More on them later.
Its important that you know the Mediums Sum are drawn more often than the High and Low Sums. Knowing that gives you one way (there are more) of filtering out combos being made in your Rundown. Will get the other ways to filter further down in this writing.
It's important we keep talking about the 304 possible combinations offered by the rundown and the duplicates it produces, and how to use the Rundown for making your picks.
But before we do so, let's do the math on how to make a 317 Rundown using the last winning draw so that you can work up your combination contenders for a wager.

It's simple math.
If you can add, you can Rundown.
You start with the number 317 and below it you put the 3 digit combination from the last winning draw. In this example we will use the 197.
You add the 1 to the 3 = 4; the 9 to the 1 = 10 (but you are just keeping the last digit from the 10 which is Zero; and then add 7 to the 7 = 14 (but you just keep the 4), and you will have 4, 0 and 4 in next row below the 197.
Then you continue to add each new number you get in each column to the 3, 1 and 7 until you get to the same 3 digit number that you started with, 197.
Once your grid is complete you are ready to start considering your picks for the next draw by seeing what digits connect to each other in an array of patterns.
Now let's do a few examples.
Understand that I will be using examples where I predicted accurately, because by doing so I will be able to also include how I filtered the combos so that I had a more promising group of combinations to wager on.
I am a box hit player. My goal it to his the $41.50 or the $83.50 prize point and not spend more than $13 or $14 dollars. I dont' play every day. I wait for flips that will talk about as we go over the examples. I am a numbers game lover, and I'm not too proud to say that I lose more than I win. This is the Pick 3 game, and everyone knows that they would rich if they had a dime for everytime they missed the prize by 1 number.
Sharing my story here about the 317 Rundown is just another piece of information you can put into your own standard arsenal for playing this game of chance.
So let's continue with some of my lucky examples.

Using the 197 as the winning drawn combo for the Eve game on December 31, 2025 and using it in the 317 Rundown to catch the next days winning Midday combo 476.
Out of the 220 unique combinations, the 197 produced 103 unique combinations that weren't in the grid; While 117 combinations were in the grid. These 117 are brokendown below into of how many times a combination duplicated.
Here's how the count of combos panned rundown the 197
43 unique combos are there only once;.
21 unique combos are there twice;
20 unique combos are there 3x's;
21 unique combos are there 4x's;
6 unique combos are there 5x's;
2 unique combos are there 6x's;
2 unique combos are there 7x's; and,
2 unique combos are there 8x's

I caught the Midday draw for a Box Hit by filtering the idea that next draw would produce a repeating digit from the same game prior, which was 306; And, that we could get a share/carry-over digit from the 197 that I ran down from the winning Eve drawn the night before.
But I also, drilled down the contenders that would make up a Share Repeat Single as outlined above to not be another low sum as was the 306 from the day before; and I also decided I would bet against the Rundown grid. I used 3 different variables to arrive at the contenders you see in the 197 Rundown above.
But here the best one to use. The Zeros. If you look at the 197 Rundown, the number 7 was by all three Zeros. From my back testing, when the next winning draw is in the grid, one of its digits is sitting next to the digit Zero. This is a little something another Poster on LotteryPost shared with me while I was exploring the grid for my predictions. I tested it, and it's the magic charm. Although, I hear some folks like to look at the Zero's mirror, the 5. I back tested the 0, and like the 0. And can't add anything of value about the 5, so back test it yourself.
I also noticed that sometimes, like in this case, when the digits of the next winning draw aren't connected by the cells, the digits that do come out are still sitting by the Zeros that are dispersed by the math throughout the grid. As it was here. The first Zero in the first row was sitting by the 7 and the 4, the second Zero in row 3 was again sitting next to the 7 which was connected to another 4, and the last Zero in the 10th row was again sitting just above the 7.
Using the 212 as the winning drawn combo for the Eve game on January 13, 2026 and using it in the 317 Rundown to catch the next days winning Midday combo 612.
Out of the 220 unique combinations, the 212 produced 77 unique combinations that weren't in the grid; While 143 combinations were in the grid. These 143 are broken down below into of how many times a combination duplicated.
Here's how the count of combos panned rundown the 212
58 unique combos are there only once;.
43 unique combos are there twice;
23 unique combos are there 3x's;
11 unique combos are there 4x's;
5 unique combos are there 5x's;
3 unique combos are there 6x's;

I accurately predicted the next draw for the Midday Game by thinking that next draw would NOT BE IN THE GIRD. But like the 6 to be a number that would repeat from the 306 that was drawn the day before.
This time I bet the grid, because for 3 days in a row the next winning combo was NOT in the grid, So I putting my money on the flip. Also, there were 5 days in a row that had a medium sum drawn---so It made sense to consider a low or high Sum alongside some medium sums. And because, it happens that a digit in the Eve game will show up in the next days Midday game more often than it will not, I decided to keep the bulk of my picks to hold the digit 1 or 2. And check out the Zero's here. One was by the 1 and the 2, and the other two were by the 6. So again, the 612 wasn't in the grid, but its digits were certainly by the Zero's.

Watch. Wait. Wager.
Playing this game successfully is hard. It's random and anything can happen. But know how your state game runs, how often it repeats digits from the same game, and share digits with the other game, and where the Sums stand, are all details that will help you keep to a group of contenders for the wagering on the game.
Here is a 220 Unique Filter you can purchase for $10 that will help you filter through repeating and shared digits from the two daily games, as well, allow you to rule out Sums.

Although it was charming to see this workout being done by hand by this member of LotteryPost. I knew if I were gonna test it, I would need to make a calculator to do the job quickly. So using Excel, I did just that. I made a calculator on one of the worksheets in the Excel workbook I was using to record the Ohio Pick 3 draw games. And I back tested the heck out of it with the history of draws I was already maintaining.
I will be sharing with you below what I've come to learn about the 317 Rundown. I have also made a free to use online Rundown calculator for others to use so that they too can back test quickly, or use it in their daily workouts to wager on the Pick 3 games. But before you zoom over to the free calculator, stay awhile and see what I found while back testing the rundown and the other very important variables to consider regarding its structure.
