“You only have one job in life, and that’s to be yourself.”
~Diane von Furstenberg
For most of my life, I’ve been what you’d call a tomboy. While my sisters were painting nails and steaming their faces, I was more likely to be out in the sun, sleeping in, or throwing on a dress at the last minute with no beauty routine in the mix. Makeup?
I wasn't focused on beauty. I was a Tomboy.
I hate to admit it, but I even at times went to bed with my make-up still on. Skincare regimen? I didn't need it.
I never worried much about beauty, plus — I had what my baby sister Dawnie called “butter skin” in my youth, smooth and glowing without effort. To prove my point, below is a photo of me on the beach in 1986 that my baby sister Dawnie took of me. She posted it on Facebook when she came across it back in 2015.
But after years of late-night working shifts, and, let’s be honest, worshipping the sun like it was my personal spotlight, the glow dimmed. Now at 63, the fine lines, dullness, and dryness have set in.
Then came one kitchen-table conversation that changed everything.

This is probably Belmar or Forked River, New Jersey. Not sure which. But there I am damaging my skin.
My big sister and my niece — the daughter of my baby sister — were raving about something called Rosehip Oil.
I chimed in with, “I used a moisturizer once that had Rosehip in it. I love it. Now whats' this oil stuff?”
Than my niece said, “We both put it on before bed every night.”
At first, I thought, Really? An oil is going to undo years of sun-worshipping and neglect? But curiosity (and maybe a touch of envy) got the better of me.
My niece come up with a daily regime for me to tackle my sun damaged skin.
Fun Story. I actually have a Rosehip bush on my property. Never knew what is was until now.
So on August 19, 2025, I placed my first order: a bottle of Rosehip Oil, a Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and CeraVe Night Cream.
And here’s where the stardust comes in — the Moon and Mercury were conjunct in Leo that day. The Moon represents self-care, Mercury rules communication and hands, and Leo shines with self-love.
There I was, quite literally typing my Amazon order (Mercury) for serums (Leo glow) under a nurturing Moon — planting seeds of renewal at exactly the right cosmic hour.
By August 21, as the Moon joined the Sun in Leo to become new, I officially began my damaged skincare routine. And as an astrologer, I couldn’t help but smile — new cycles are always the perfect time to plant seeds. This time, the seed wasn’t in the garden but on my skin, and Leo’s heart-centered light reminded me: it was long overdue to show myself some love.
Your skin renews itself in 28 days:
Days 1–7: Baby cells are born
Days 8–14: They grow and strengthen
Days 15–21: Middle-aged, doing their work
Days 22–28: Time to shed, making room for the next generation
I just completed one cycle — and yes, the change is real. Softer texture. A little glow back. And most importantly, my skin feels alive again. And,
When I facetime with family and friends they too are noticing a difference. I'm so delighted with the results its really hard to not want to touch my face all day and feel the difference. Even my husband is noticing the slight change.

I have bare skin in both the before and after pictures so that I could photograph the journey.
🚫 No hot water (it strips skin)
🚫 No scrubbing, no harsh exfoliating
🚫 No rough towels (pat dry only!)
🚫 No touching/picking (wrinkles’ worst enemy)
🚫 No fragrance creams
From August 21st to September 21st

Lock it in with CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30
Add makeup if desired
Night (PM) Repair Routine
Wash gently with soap and water
Apply Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Apply Rosehip Oil
Seal it all in with CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream
Lights out by 10 PM (early sleep = collagen repair time!)
My whole new routine to repair my skin damage I was able to do for under $50
Rosehip Oil – Rich in essential fatty acids & antioxidants. Fades dark spots, softens fine lines, deeply hydrates.
Hyaluronic Acid – A hydration magnet! Plumps and smooths, making skin look bouncy and fresh.
CeraVe AM Moisturizer (SPF 30) – Protects and repairs with ceramides and niacinamide, while shielding from UV damage.
CeraVe Night Cream – Works while you sleep, boosting collagen and restoring the skin barrier.

I paired my skincare with better food choices (most of the time). Here are skin-loving superfoods worth adding:
Proteins: eggs, chicken, shellfish, beans
Healthy fats: salmon, sardines, walnuts, flaxseed, avocado
Vitamin C: citrus, bell peppers, kiwi, berries
Vitamin A: carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes
Vitamin E: almonds, sunflower seeds, Greek yogurt
Skincare isn’t just bottles on a counter — it’s what you feed your skin from the inside out.

Just some of the yummy experiences I had during the past month focused on my Skin repair.
Skincare isn’t just about bottles on the bathroom counter — it’s a whole-body commitment. I like to think of it as the 80/20 rule: 80% of your glow comes from lifestyle — the food you eat, the sleep you keep, and the movement that gets your blood flowing. The other 20%? That’s the love you show your skin through serums, oils, and creams.
During my 30-day repair, I added in some light exercise — even a few games of pickleball! Movement matters because it improves circulation, and circulation feeds oxygen and nutrients directly to your skin cells. A good sweat is like giving your skin a fresh breath of air.
Equally important was rest. I made a promise to be in bed by 10 PM, honoring the hours when the body naturally shifts into repair mode and starts rebuilding collagen. My mother’s old saying rings true: “Late nights will show on your face one day.” She was right.
And here’s the part many women forget: be kind to yourself. The words you speak about your reflection matter as much as the creams you apply. Rejuvenating your skin is not just about looking better — it’s about loving yourself through the choices you make, the habits you build, and the words you whisper to the mirror.
After 30 days, I can say without hesitation: this works. My skin is softer, brighter, and dare I say, younger-looking. Even better, people have started to notice and ask what I’m doing. And that’s when I send them here.
But this is only the beginning.
Stay tuned, my stars — we’re just getting started. I'll update this page with more results after adding in the Vitamin C & Retinol. I am also extending the repair regime to my neck and chest area where there is also a bit too much sun damage.
I’ve just added TruSkin Vitamin C Serum into my routine, and retinol is arriving tomorrow. These next 30 days are all about pushing repair to the next level — brightening, firming, and tackling deeper lines.
I’ll update this blog post with more before and after at the 60-day mark, after 30 days of starting the TruSkin Vitamin C serum. So check back soon for an update. Leave a comment below if you have any questions.
I’ve made it simple: here’s a free downloadable skincare editable calendar and mini-guide you can print to track your progress day by day. Print it, hang it, and let’s glow together.
Ruled by Venus, beauty is written in the stars — even if, like me with Venus in Scorpio, you’ve neglected it for years. It’s never too late to love your skin again.

t’s November 30th, and for the last 104 days I’ve been treating my skin with the kind of love I wish I’d started showing it decades ago. But when you’re young, resilience feels like a permanent membership perk — and spoiler alert, it’s not. So take care of your skin while it’s still cooperating.
After finishing my first 30-day round of always using HA and rosehip oil, I stepped things up. Every morning now starts with HA, a good dose of Vitamin C before moisturizing. At night, I still apply HA first, then rotate: one night it’s rose oil, the next it’s retinol, followed by my moisturizer. A simple rhythm, but my skin absolutely drinks it in.
And I have to admit — I’ve never been more pleased watching (and feeling) my face get brighter, softer, and smoother. The wrinkles haven’t vanished, but they’ve definitely lost their enthusiasm. Looking back, I wish I’d done more than slap on moisturizer and hope for the best all those years.
But here’s what surprised me the most: it wasn’t the products.
It was the ritual.
These little morning-and-night routines have become moments I look forward to. They set the tone for my entire day. I show myself love before I fall asleep and again the moment I wake up. And honestly, even if I didn’t see a single change in the mirror, that alone would’ve made the whole journey worth it.
