On December 3, 1979, the Ohio Lottery held its very first Pick 3 Evening draw. When the three balls were drawn that night, they revealed the numbers 6-7-2.
What makes this moment remarkable is not just that it marked the beginning of a long-running game — but that the stars themselves echoed the draw.
At the exact moment of that first Pick 3 Evening drawing, Venus — the planet traditionally associated with money, value, and attraction — measured 276 degrees of total celestial longitude.
Those same three digits appeared in the winning number that night:
672 — a boxed hit, written directly into the sky.
If you don't already know, NASA's JET PROPULSION LABOTORY measures the planets positions in the heavens in degrees of celestial longitude--known as the celestial coordinate system.
If you’re not familiar with how astrologers measure the heavens, here’s a quick explanation.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory tracks planetary positions using degrees of celestial longitude, measured around a 360-degree celestial compass. Each planet can be expressed in two ways:
Total degrees of longitude (000–359)
Zodiacal notation, showing degrees and minutes within a zodiac sign
On December 3, 1979, at 7:29 PM in Cleveland, Ohio, Venus measured:
276 degrees total celestial longitude
6°42′ Capricorn in zodiacal notation
Not only did Venus’ total longitude mirror the very first Pick 3 Evening draw (672), but its zodiacal position reflected the structure of the game itself — the Evening draw running six days a week, Monday through Saturday.
As above, so below.
Ohio Pick 3 Evening Draw Birth Chart — December 3, 1979 @ 7:29 PM, Cleveland, Ohio
Below is a chart showing every planet’s position in the Ohio Pick 3 Evening Draw birth chart, expressed in both:
total celestial longitude
zodiacal degrees
Because Pick 3 numbers are measured in three-digit combinations, it’s natural to compare them directly to planetary longitude values on the 360-degree compass.
So I did exactly that.
I tracked how often these planetary measurements appeared in actual Pick 3 Evening draws, from the game’s beginning in 1979 through the end of 2022 — a full 43 years of data.
The results are striking.
Now let’s look at Mercury.
In the Pick 3 birth chart, Mercury is positioned at 21° Scorpio, which translates to 231 degrees of total celestial longitude.
The boxed number 231 is one of the top-performing combinations in Ohio’s Pick 3 Evening game history.
This is fitting, as Mercury rules numbers, counting, calculation, and patterns. It also has an eccentric orbit, completing a revolution around the Sun roughly every 87 days, during which it measures every possible degree from 000 to 359.
When we examine top-performing PAIRS in Ohio Pick 3 history, another connection emerges:
The 12 pair ranks second, appearing 823 times
The 01 pair ranks first, appearing 828 times
These are the very same digits found in the Sun’s zodiacal measurement — 10° Sagittarius.
But there’s more.
The Sun’s total celestial longitude in the Pick 3 birth chart measures 250 degrees.
That number corresponds directly to the date May 20, 2007 (5/20) — the exact date when Sunday draws were added to the Ohio Pick 3 game.
Once again, timing and numbers align.
It was 19 years after the Pick 3 Evening game began that Ohio added a Midday draw, on August 16, 1999.
That number — 19 — belongs to Neptune, positioned at 19° Sagittarius in the original Pick 3 birth chart.
At the time, Neptune formed a complex configuration involving:
the Moon in Gemini
the Sun
the Midheaven in Pisces
This pattern is known as a Mutable T-Square.
Mutable signs — Gemini, Sagittarius, and Pisces — are associated with change, adaptation, and duality. The symbolism is unmistakable.
Ohio was always meant to have more than one Pick 3 draw.

Ohio’s Pick 3 birth chart isn’t just interesting — it’s structurally elegant.
Its numbers, timing, expansions, and popularity are all echoed in the celestial measurements present at the game’s inception. Nothing here requires belief — only observation.
That’s what I call Star-Logic.
I hope you found these insights as fascinating as I have. If you have any observations, memories, or thoughts about the Ohio Pick 3 game, I’d love to hear them in the comments below.
